Ubuntu Linux Old Tue Mar 6, 2007 4:40:49 AM #35131 Perm Link
I just built a machine and installed Ubuntu Linux on it. I really want to learn Linux thoroughly. I was tooling around with some preferences and and came up with this: »http://www.aseville.com/albums.php?id=334 It's an OSX icon set with the Clear Looks window theme. The wallpaper I just pulled off of Gnome Look.org.

"I knew it. I'm surrounded by a$$holes!"

The look is simply great. For those who might be looking for a change in looks of their Desktop, there are KBFX Spinx applet which once installed will give you the options to chance the K-Start button and the menu style also.

There are better iconsets out there for the OSX look. Plus you can use gdesklets to get the OSX style dock (with a load of tweaking).

2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!

It really surprises me when I find Linux is so customizable. One can completely change the looks with minimum effort.

Why does that surprise you? That's a serious question, BTW. Linux is very user-friendly once you've used it for a while. The option of the command line is awesome, some can work faster on the command line than any other way.

If you think about by whom free software is developed in which way, there's no way it could happen without choice: Hackers have different goals and preferences and are perfectly capable of changing stuff.
