»Heating Water By Solar Radiation

Finally some good news that deals with energy. The US needs to support these clean and cheap efforts to conserve energy by using energy already coming to us. The sun is a big nuclear reactor.

Interest, nonetheless, is beginning to percolate, said Alex Winch, president of Mondial Energy. Mondial installs solar thermal systems in large buildings and then makes its money by reselling the heat generated by them back to the building owner. The Toronto-based company has put systems in 100-unit senior living centers in Canada, and it recently signed letters of intent for installations in a couple of U.S. hotels. Solar thermal systems can offset gas consumption even in places not known for sunshine, Winch noted. His first project was the Beach Solar Laundromat in Toronto. It's snowy in that city right now, but the system at Beach Solar has generated 382 kilowatts in the past week, according to its online energy meter.

Why we don't invest more in this type of technology is lost on me. Just like with sugar beets and corn. Let's start using things we can grow quickly and easily! Not something that takes thousands of years to form!

Though it might take sometime before this system is widely accepted but at the same time it needs to be noted that this is the future source of energy also.

We could use it but we cant be much dependable on it. And besides in colder areas like canada, russia, europe and places like that, there is little sun all round the year. And solar cells are expenvise to buy.

Obviously, this particular area of energy production needs to be investigated further in order to find more efficient ways -- and cheaper too! -- to make the best of it. Currently, governments aren't so interested in this kind of research, as fossil fuels are still providing enough, and they don't seem to have the foresight, or even care, that this source of energy won't last forever.
