IE6 and 7 CSS rendering bug

I just noticed another CSS rendering bug that is (of course) not fixed in IE7.

If you style a <tr> in a table, the <td> under it will inherit the background from the <tr> parent.

I can't believe IE still has these stupid bugs. Everyone should switch to Firefox.

I noticed this problem at work.

These IE bugs are a real pain in the ass.

I am just learning CSS and what I was taught yesterday is instead of updating IE6 for CSS they installed everything in 7. So you need to upgrade to 7 to fix the problems.

That's correct... yet there are many more bugs in IE7 that make it hardly standards compliant.

I still notice the stupid screen refreshing bug.

It's a microsoft thing to do halfa***d upgrade and make everyone wait while they construct new ones with new flaws.

this sounds perfectly logical and correct to me... except if the TD is styled seperately.

How is that logical?

Why should the TD inherit the style from the TR instead of the entire row having the single style? That's like taking nested DIVs and have each DIV have the same style as the parent DIV.

How would you code around the problem? Or can you?

Nope. I just fixed it by picking a style that would look the same if I styled the TDs themselves.

ah, you didn't say that the whole TR did not have the style ;-)

Were you able to get what you wanted in the look or was there a difference. I am just trying to CSS down. I am a old school dinosaur.

It is totally different. It sucks.
