OMG!

I hope they put nuts on them too...

You know what my whole take on this is?

We are not meant to fly in space. Sorry, I don't agree with any of this space shuttle crap and flying to the moon and exploring the planet mars looking for life(WHO CARES?)
How about we solve world hunger or the energy crisis right here and stop wasting money on space travel? What? Are we going to be able to live on the Moon one day..Not likely. It gets hit with asteroids on a regular basis...we would be sitting ducks. Stupid. Is the space exploration thing doing something for us now? Is it helping world peace? Starvation, Diseases? Energy problems? Religous problems? huh?

Why do you think there have been so many disasters with the shuttle and space exploration...it's a sign people...get out of the friggin water if you can't swim. We are relying on metal strapped together with bolts to fly us through the atmosphere at phenomenal speeds...the odds are agaisnt us in every way.

This is my own opinion and in no way relects the opinions of ASE, it's affiliates or sponsors.

We need to get off this rock soon. I fully support the space program.

I WANT to go into space in my lifetime.

What would you do once you got out there?
Ride your bike?
Play tennis?
Swim in a pool?

Uhh... try all of the above.

Seriously, I am very eager to venture off into space. It is one of my dreams that I can actually do.

What I do not understand...

Quote

Harnessing the abundant—virtually limitless—energy and material resources of outer space will alleviate our dependence on non-renewable, terrestrial resources and create new avenues of wealth.

Quote

In the 21st Century, human needs cry out for the extension of civilization into orbit and beyond. Why? Because space is:
1. A mere 62 miles above us, and thus a continuation of our environment
2. An extension of the economy, and thus part of our lives
3. A place of abundant resources, and thus crucial to our survival and prosperity
Stated concisely yet profoundly, space is nothing less than the ultimate economic growth engine for the entire world, and nothing more than another place for people to live, work, study, and play.

What abundant resources??? It's AIR dude. SPACE..means just that, SPACE, nothingness. Is there energy just floating around..Sounds a little far-fetched to me. Show me some proof that it is "an economic growth engine." That is a FARSE. Fishy, theoretic babbling is what it sounds like to me. I'd be the last person to go to space based on a theory.

I don't CARE about the economics of space. I want to see what it is like to look down at the Earth in microgravity. I will do it in my lifetime.
