The FBI has repeatedly misused the Patriot Act's extraordinary surveillance powers by obtaining information on Americans unlawfully, the Justice Department's inspector general said Friday in a report that already has drawn promises of a congressional investigation.

Wow I think I just had a heart attack from not surprise.

What is troubling is that the administration said it was a success that no one "meant" to break the law but did so accidentally. I think that is called a failure in my book.

Yeah and I'm totally sure these incidents were accidents. FBI agents just can't be bothered to get a silly little thing like a warrant. @_@

I'm thinking in these cases they abused Patriot Act to get information in ways that a judge would never approve of. Like finding out the new address their ex-wife moved to from a credit card company so they can teach a lesson to her new husband.
