I usually do not go into a large editorial when I encounter problems with a product, but the DX38BT really pushed me over the edge.

Misery loves company. I've been wrestling with this board for a week now. I've tried WinXP 32, WinXP 64 and Vista Business 64 with no luck. I've slipstreamed the lastest drivers into an installation disk and still no go. Initiated an email support with Intel and will see where that goes.

Welcome to ASE!

What's the board actually doing?

Try popping in Ubuntu and seeing if that works.

If I could get some sort of consistency or a repeatable pattern of errors I'd be happier. I just can't complete an OS install. Many various BSODs at diiferent times, 0x7E, 7B, 3E, 1E, no file listed or error message.

Just to make sure, you've checked the RAM?

Make sure you eliminate all possible other components.

Well Vista has a memory tester I tried during the install which passed. Are there other nonOS checkers? Bios identifies it all: 4GB OCZ ReaperX PC1066 DDR3 1333Mhz. I was suspicious until it passed that test. I'm downloading Ubuntu now to create the CD.

You're in luck if download Ubuntu.

One of the boot options is to use the Memtest+ memory tester. It takes awhile to test all the RAM, but it is a fairly good indicator.

Excellent! I'll update here tomorrow. I'll catch some zzzz while it downloads. I'm down to 200KB/sec, while I started out at 870KB/sec :-( Thanks for the help!

What happens when you try to run it?

You can check http://www.memtest.org for standalone ISOs.

Update:
Got a memtest ISO which I booted and ran the test overnite....all successful. I then removed all the HD's but one. And I have been able to load and boot WinXP SP2 32-bit. Now to move on the the 64-bit OSes.

Although the memory modules check out okay, Microsofts 64-bit software, XP and Vista, has problems installing with more than 3GB of RAM. So I backed off to 2GB. Still got some problems, but I got further than I have been. Seems like 1 out of 3 of my hard drives may have a problem :-(

There might be an option in the motherboard for memory remapping. You need to enable that for over around 2GB.
