Do you dual boot? Why/Why not?

I can on my desktop, but I very seldom do. I occassionally need to use a Windows application, so I keep it around.

My next build will only be Linux on my desktop. No more Windows.

When I started using it, I dual booted, and I recommend it if possible/comfortable for the first time linux-user if there's a fair mix of things they like to do, especially if they're big on gaming. Personally, I found Windows frustrating after awhile.

When there's a bizarre problem on Windows, there's not a lot you can do to fix it, but on any unix systems, you can repair the damage (give or take limitations caused by paranoia). I think I stopped caring about keeping Windows around by the end of GNOME's Sawfish days (I really liked Sawfish, great advancements at the time). Once I got the GUI to do what I want, WINE was easier to manage and some of the applications really matured, I didn't have any fears about dropping Windows.

I have installed Linux for first time overall computer users for two years. There's not much to complain about except with Ubuntu. Ironic as Ubuntu is nicely polished, but for one person, I got "The Official Handbook," but the Official Handbook is less helpful for Ubuntu than when Mandrake used to make their handbooks (which had lots of practical command line information in it at that time). Despite being official and ubuntu-y, most of the good first time instructions were geared towards Kubuntu. I would have installed that had I bothered to closely look it over (if I would have bought it; GNOME HIGgy documentation is very decent).

Aron, I thought you've had a couple of Linux only systems already (excluding your/ping's server)?

I dual boot but for the life of me I can't remember why we built it that way-the system automatically boots into Linux and I rarely switch it over. There MUST have been a reason.....

I have many Linux systems at home and the webserver (mine now, Chris actually gets space from me) runs Linux. I have a MythTV server, a fileserver, a few front ends. Now my main desktop will be Linux.
