Wait, I'm getting confused with the main topic and the replies. Is BitWise IM a combo IM messenger that connects to AIM, Yahoo, MSN, etc. or is it its own independant messsenger used mainly for filesharing? It seems to me that the program is its own independant messenging system.

No it doesnt connect to other networks. It is its own independant Messageing system.

If I wasn't such a trend whore and used real AIM I would probably go with miranda-im or gaim before bitwise. The convenience of connecting to already popular networks is something that bitwise lacks.
