Thunderbird duplicate email problem

I'm getting a rather annoying problem in Thunderbird recently. This has happened once before, but only once.

Everytime I check my email (by opening Thunderbird), a set of about 800 emails gets duplicated. This happens all the time no matter what I do. I think I'll reinstall thunderbird, but this is stupid.

I quit using thunderbird after having too many "buggy" issues with it. I'll wait for a better version or look for a better "free" email client.

Have you looked at Eudora? It's not too bad..Kinda cluttered though IMO.

You mean to tell me there are email clients out there you acutally have to spend money on? Ya learn something new everyday. I just can't bring myself to spending a buck. Unless ofcourse its for a good cause. Microsoft and other LARGE companies are just not on my good cause list right now.

I found the solution to the problem.

Delete the MSF files in your profile directory.

Thunderbird then rebuilds the index and all is well.
